    The Beim Foundation supports grants in the areas of arts, education, environment and human services.The Beim Foundation makes grants through the Minnesota Legacy Program and the Regional Grant Program.

    Through the Minnesota Legacy Program, the Beim Foundation supports Minnesota based organizations or programs that meet one of the following priorities:

    • Help vulnerable populations find financial self-sufficiency;
    • Provide job training and language skills development to recent immigrants; or
    • Provide innovative programs directed toward children who fall at the intersection of psychological health and child welfare that give them alternative services to transition to self-sufficiency

     

     

    History of Funding

    In 2014, the Beim Foundation awarded approximately 34 grants with a value of $485,000 under the Minnesota Legacy Program and the Regional Grant Program.

    Funds may not be used for:

    • Individuals;
    • Private foundations;
    • Political organizations or campaigns;
    • Religious organizations, including schools, except for secular human activities;
    • Organizations that have as a substantial part of their purpose, the influencing of legislation;
    • Memberships, subscriptions, tickets for benefits, conferences, fundraising events, annual campaigns; or
    • Endowments

  • Eligibility Details

    Non-profit organizations in Minnesota are eligible to apply for the Minnesota Legacy Program.

    Non-profit organizations in certain counties of California, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana and Washington state will be invited to apply to the Regional Grant Program.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline to submit Letters of Intent for the Minnesota Legacy Program was January 9, 2015. The deadline for invited applicants to submit full proposals was February 16, 2015. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.

    Unsolicited applications for the Regional Grant Program will not be considered. The Foundation invites proposals for consideration.

    Award Details

    Most grants range between $5,000 and $15,000.
