The Foster Foundation supports programs that benefit Pacific Northwest communities. Programs must address at least one of the Foundation's priority areas: Human Welfare; Education; Medical Research, Treatment & Care; and Arts & Culture.
The Foundation looks for effective organizations with a strong track record and a sustainable business plan. Priority will be given to funding innovative and collaborative approaches to meeting critical needs that result in improved services, increased impact and positive outcomes for constituents within the areas of focus.
Eligible applicants are 501(c) (3) organizations located in and/or serving of the Pacific Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
The Foundation accepts proposals by invitation only. Eligible non-profits are encouraged to follow these steps to register their organization with the Foster Foundation's database: http://www.thefosterfoundation.org/Grants.htm. If your organization is considered to be a good match to the Foundation's funding strategies, they will notify a potential applicant to confirm their status as a partner organization and invite them to submit a proposal.
