    Summary

The Rainforest Trust works with local communities and conservation leaders to save endangered species by protecting at-risk rainforests and tropical habitats through land purchase and the designation of protected areas.

The Rainforest Ark Initiative by Rainforest Trust seeks new conservation partners and organizations across the tropics that are committed to establishing and/or expanding Protected Areas (PAs) for those species that are most endangered with extinction. Their target is to protect a total of 20 million acres of the most threatened tropical habitats by the year 2020.

Rainforest Trust has protected millions of acres of critical habitat, and we aim to expand our successful model of protected area establishment by launching the Rainforest Ark Initiative.
