    Summary

FIRST Robotics aims to engage kids in kindergarten through high school in exciting, Mentor-based, research and robotics programs that help them become science and technology leaders, as well as well-rounded contributors to society.

The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Team grants are sponsor-directed funds that are distributed by FIRST Headquarters. If you receive a grant, please make sure to read the sponsor's instructions carefully. Each sponsor has different requirements. Depending on the grant, the funds can cover:
    • Registration
    • Product
    • Expenses

    Additional Information

Receiving a national grant can be a competitive process, with each sponsor evaluating teams based on different criteria. Submitting a grant application does not guarantee funding for your team. In fact, only about 50 percent of teams receive a national grant during a typical FIRST Robotics Competition season.
