The objective of FP&S Program is to provide critically needed resources to carry out fire prevention education and training, fire code enforcement, fire/arson investigation, firefighter safety and health programming, prevention efforts, and research and development. In FY 2022, FP&S offers grants to support activities in two categories:

Applications were to be submitted by February 18, 2022. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.
Up to $$46,000,000.00 is available in total funding for an anticipated 100 awards. Individual awards may not exceed $1,500,000. Projects under FP&S may last up to 12 months while R&D projects may last up to 36 months, beginning May 17, 2022. Cost sharing/matching of at least 5% is required.
