    Summary

Genentech's Grant Program focuses on the following funding areas:

    • Independent Medical Education (IME) - Independent Medical Education (IME) is generally defined as education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) provided by an independent educational provider, such as a community hospital, academic center, society/association or medical education & communication company. Genentech/Roche supports grants for independent medical education in an effort to further the advance of medicine and healthcare by improving the knowledge of the medical community.
    • Healhcare-related Charitable Support - These support requests are healthcare-related and are consistent with a therapeutic area in which Genentech or Roche is active. Genentech prioritizes and focuses funding towards programs and events such as: Patient Services, Patient Outreach, Patient Education, Disease Education, Fundraisers, Health screenings, Scientific/Medical Meetings, Conferences, Seminars and Symposia.
    • Philanthropic Charitable Support - Philanthropic Charitable Support is focused on humanitarian & social programs, science & education or community & environment. These requests are not healthcare-related. Support is directed towards the communities in which Genentech operates.
    • Scientific Project Support - Scientific Project Support provides funding for general research, translational research, other research or development projects, and/or other initiatives of research organizations, labs, and academic institutions. Research collaborations, clinical trials and associated correlative research involving or undertaken in relation to Genentech or Roche products (whether investigational and/or approved for other uses) are excluded from this type of support.
    • Fellowships - Fellowships are for grants to independent professional organizations, independent charitable organizations, or other eligible institutions, where the funds are used to support advanced study by clinical and research professionals at an accredited university or teaching institution.
