The Seabury Foundation believes that for individuals and families to prosper and feel secure they need: access to a broad range of educational opportunity from infancy to adulthood; confidence in themselves; access to living-wage jobs, good health and wellness options; a sustainable environment in which to live; and the chance to participate in the many social and cultural institutions that make up the fabric of communities.
Competitive applicants will be able to show how they are changing lives, and will have clear, promising strategies for projects and programs in the following areas:

The Seabury Foundation does not contribute to individuals, benefits, annual campaigns, private schools, or private research.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations operating in Chicago.
Letters of Intent are to be submitted by September 15, January 15, and June 15, annually. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by November 1, March 1, or August 1.
Award amounts vary based on program area. In general, The Seabury Foundation makes one-time, special project grants, rather than general operating support.
