    Summary

    In 2015, the UI College of Public Health inaugurated the Business Leadership Network (BLN) Community Grant Project to support projects, programs, and activities that build collaborations and support community well-being.


    The purpose of the BLN Community Grant is to foster collaboration in Iowa communities in addressing areas of identified community health or public health need. The intent is also to begin or strengthen partnerships with business and industry and to link with the University of Iowa College of Public Health experts and resources in appropriate topical issues.


    Small grants are awarded on a competitive basis for projects that addresses a community priority in public health.

     

    History of Funding

    2020 grant recipients are the following:

    • BIO Girls – Davis County, Bloomfield
    • Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, Muscatine
    • Live Well Montgomery County, Red Oak
    • Northeast Iowa Wellness and Recreation Center, Postville
    • UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Bettendorf

    Additional Information

    Topic areas for this grant program include but are not limited to: healthy lifestyles, population health, data accumulation, workplace safety/wellness, community needs assessment, children and youth issues, healthy aging, arts and health collaborations, and sustainability of multi-generational, livable communities.

    Eligible applicants are Iowa nonprofit organizations and local government entities.

    Deadline Details

    Applications were due January 12, 2024.

    Award Details

    Awards may be up to $3,000. Matching of 1:1 is required. Matching may be in cash or in kind.
